"The Klein & Solomon brochure is not only one of the most professional firm brochures I have ever seen, but it is tremendously informative and an excellent piece of work. You should rightfully be proud not only of your brochure but of the accomplishments it discusses."

“As Director of Communications for Citizens Committee for New York City, Sonia was a member of the senior management team and supervised all marketing and public relations activities for the organization. Sonia is a person of high integrity, responsibility and accountability. She is considerate and conscientious. I recommend her without reservation.”

P’tach serves children with learning disabilities in New York’s Orthodox Jewish communities. In-school programs provide early intervention and a child-centered education. Teachers in Yeshivas in Brooklyn, Queens and Rockland County are trained to recognize and manage differences in child development. Training is year-round at the nonprofit organization’s National Education Resource Center.
THE CHALLENGE:
The challenge, as usual for every nonprofit, is creating an emotional connection with donors. There are lots of worthy charities. Why give to this one?
THE SOLUTION:
P’tach has been mailing a newsletter to potential donors for years with mixed results. This year P’tach resolved to touch the heart in a new way. The newsletter focused on personal stories and compelling images that clearly communicated the role the nonprofit played in creating happy and productive lives for young learners. The same focus was brought to the organization’s New Year’s appeal, which immediately followed the newsletter.
THE RESULTS:
The newsletter and holiday appeal brought in much needed program funds. In addition, while name recognition was high, the newsletter created greater awareness in the community of P’tach’s success with learning disabled students. Educators from as far as Dallas, Texas, have come to train at P’tach with the goal of copying the model in their own communities.
